When Snow Falls

Title: When Snow Falls
Pairing: Hangeng/Leeteuk
Rating: G, complete fluff.
Length: 2269
Summary: Hangeng takes care of his beloved leader.

A/N: I'M BACK! I was going to work on another pairing, but I was texing with darkmark_lupin, and we were doing what I like to call 'drive-by ficcings'. Basically texting random little drabbles back and forth to each other. There was a sad song on the radio when I started mine, and somehow this was born. It was just a text of a paragraph or two long text into what I think is a halfway decent story. If anyone else should want to participate in the drive-bys, let me know. :-P

Leeteuk was having one of those days. He hadn't been in the best mood to begin with, and his day had gotten progressively worse and worse. Everything that could have gone wrong had in one way or another, and though nothing had failed majorly, it all added up to a horribly frustrating and depressing day. He'd decided to skip dinner in favor of curling up in his bed, burying himself within his white blankets. He'd locked the door too, so he was quite surprised to feel his bed dip, to feel someone curling up against his back. He flipped the blanket away from his face, lifting and turning his head to see the head of hair he knew belonged to Hangeng.

“How did you get in here?”

“Heechul showed me how to pick your lock a long time ago.”

Leeteuk frowned, brows furrowing, and he made a metal note to have a talk with Heechul later about respecting people's privacy. “I wanted to be alone.”

“I didn't come to talk. I just thought you needed a hug. Go ahead and lay back down. Rest for a little while.”

The frown remained upon Leeteuk's lips, but he said nothing more, laying his head back down on the pillow. Hangeng didn't say a word either, but shifted to spoon himself right up behind Leeteuk. He looped his arm around Leeteuk's waist, snuggling the older man close as he leaned to press a tender kiss to the leader’s cheek. He laid his head down on the edge of Leeteuk's pillow, letting his eyes fall shut.

With anyone else the silence between them might have been akward, but for some reason Leeteuk found it rather comfortable. The added warmth from Hangeng's body seemed to be all that was needed to thaw the chill that had washed over Leeteuk's heart.

Before he knew it, he found himself turning over onto his other side, snuggling himself to Hangeng, tucking his face into the crook of his neck to whisper a soft 'thank you' against his skin before closing his eyes. Even in a group of fourteen other boys he'd felt so terribly lonely, but now with a warm body to snuggle against, beats from a kind heart to listen to, he found it wasn't all that difficult to drift off into a comfortable sleep, and for once his dreams weren't haunted with nightmares.

Hangeng never said a word after about it, he didn't think there was much that needed to be said. Everyone has their bad days, and everyone deserves a good snuggle every now and again too. Leeteuk never said much about it either, simply because he was the leader and far too stubborn to actually admit when he needed help. Though he greatly appreciated Hangeng's kindness, even Hangeng knew not to expect Leeteuk to come to him again anytime soon.

It was this exact reason Hangeng had insisted on driving Leeteuk back to the dorm after one of their later shows, rather than letting him ride in the van with the others who hadn't driven in their own vehicle. He knew if Leeteuk went in the van he'd continue focusing on his role as leader, continue taking care of everyone else and forgetting about himself.
Hangeng had noticed the bags under the leaders eyes, he'd noticed the pale color of his skin. That of course had all been covered with makeup for the television program, but once it had been scrubbed away Leeteuk had looked as sickly as he had to begin with, perhaps even more so. At least with Leeteuk secured in the passenger’s seat of Hangeng's car, with no other distractions for the time being, Hangeng was confident Leeteuk would be able to get a little bit of rest.

Leeteuk had been struggling to keep himself awake from where he'd curled himself up in Hangeng's car, he felt it was his duty to stay awake just incase the Chinese man needed him. Hangeng wasn't making it easy for him, the car was toasty warm despite the snow falling outside, there was soft classical music playing on the radio. Leeteuk had dozed off several times, but each time his head would begin to drop he would startle himself back awake, blinking repeatedly, trying to force his eyes open wide.

“I don't remember them predicting snow...”

Hangeng glanced over to Leeteuk, smiling for a breif moment before focusing his eyes back on the road. It was dark, and at the rate the snow was coming down the roads were going to be becoming much more dangerous. They'd been in enough accidents before, they certainly didn't need another one.

“I heard it was suppose to snow a little, but it's really coming down.” Hangeng laughed a bit then, glancing to Leeteuk once more. “Maybe we'll get snowed in, yeah? Get to sleep in a few hours in the morning.”

Leeteuk rolled his eyes but laughed softly. “You must be dreaming. They'd probably airlift us to the studio if it snowed that much rather than give us a day off.” Hangeng laughed at Leeteuk's statement, and the two of them settled into a comfortable silence once more. Leeteuk dozed off once again, waking only when he felt the car come to a stop. He blinked when he opened his eyes, sitting up in the seat since somehow during his nap he'd slumped down so much his knees were almost resting against the dash. His brows furrowed in confusion then, looking over to Hangeng when he realized the building they were parked infront of was not their apartment building.

“Where are we? What time is it?”

Hangeng shut the engine off, slipping his keys out of the ignition. “It's after midnight, and we're at a hotel. It's snowing too much, the roads have gotten slick. If we try to keep going it's going to take us another hour to get there safely, and you need to rest. I'm hoping they'll have the snow cleared in the morning so we can make it back to the dorm. If not we'll just call had have them bring some extra clothes to the studio.”

Leeteuk frowned lightly, he would have preferred to sleep at the dorms with the rest of his bandmates (like a good leader should), but when he looked out the window and saw nearly a foot and a half of snow piled on the ground, Leeteuk understood why Hangeng was hesitant to go on. Hangeng's little car just wasn't cut out for this sort of weather. The snow was still falling thick and heavy, to the point where one couldn't see more than ten feet or so infront of them. Leeteuk thought then that it was a wonder they'd made it this far.

He looked back to Hangeng when he felt the man nudge his arm, smiling for no reason when he saw the Chinese man smiling at him. “C'mon, hyung, you can play in the snow in the morning. I'm tired, lets go.”

Leeteuk was more than a little reluctant to climb out of the warm car. Bitterly cold air and snow whipped into the car as soon as he opened the door, stinging his skin and seeping into his clothes. Hangeng slipped out of the car as well, pulling the collar of his coat up to shield his neck as he hurried around the car, rushing with Leeteuk to the front door of the hotel.

As luck would have it, the only rooms the hotel had left were those with just one bed. That didn’t seem too bothersome to the two men though, it wasn’t as though they’d never had to share a bed before. Hangeng paid for the room even though Leeteuk tried to insist that he should pay for it (he was the leader, after all), but Hangeng had shoved him away from the desk (politely), insisting that since it was his idea, he was going to pay, and joked that he’d bill their manager for it later.

Hangeng offered to let Leeteuk shower first, but upon seeing how fluffy the hotel’s bed looked (with white blankets, even better), Leeteuk thought that wrapping himself up sounding much more appealing than a shower. He’d stripped down to his boxers before climbing into the bed, wrapping himself up as snuggly as he could in the thick blankets.

He must’ve dozed off at some point in time, though he couldn’t remember when. He woke to the feel of a damp cloth being pressed to his forehead, letting his eyes flutter open to see the concerned face of Hangeng hovering over him. Hangeng smiled though when he saw Leeteuk’s eyes open, moving the cloth to dab lightly at Leeteuk’s cheeks, then along his neck.

“Felt like you were running a fever. You haven’t been looking that good lately, Leeteuk. Are you sick?”

“It’s just a little cold, it’s nothing serious. No need for special treatment.”

Hangeng rolled his eyes, moving the cloth back to Leeteuk’s forehead. “I know you think you always have to take care of us, but you have to take care of yourself too, you know.”

Leeteuk couldn’t help but to think Hangeng looked rather handsome in the warm glow of the light coming from the bedside lamp. Hangeng’s hair was still slightly damp, clinging to his face in some places, sticking out in others. He’d put the shirt back on he’d had earlier, but went without his pants after his shower, lounging in his boxers instead just like Leeteuk. Leeteuk had seen all the members in various states of undress before, but he didn’t remember any of them looking as striking as Hangeng did at that particular moment in time, looking down at him so fondly as he continued to wipe at Leeteuk’s face with the cool cloth.

Or perhaps the fever was higher than he thought and it was starting to fry his brain.

Hangeng retreated to the bathroom once more to wet the cloth with cool water again, folding it neatly and laying it upon Leeteuk’s forehead once he returned. He went about shutting the lights off before he slipped into the bed and underneath the blankets, snuggling himself up against Leeteuk just as he had the time before. An arm looped around Leeteuk, and Hangeng tilted his head to press a kiss to Leeteuk’s warm cheek.

“Try to get some rest, alright? I’ll drive us back in the morning once they clear the roads. I’ll make you breakfast too, pancakes with strawberry syrup I think, because you deserve something nice. And plenty of orange juice too, I’ll have you back on your feet in no time.”

Leeteuk loved his role as leader, really he did. But he was beginning to realize it might not be all that bad to have someone take care of him from time to time, especially not if that someone was Hangeng. He turned onto his side then (though he was careful not to knock the cloth on his forehead off), throwing an arm over Hangeng as well. He snuggled himself close, listening to the Chinese heartbeat once again, letting it lull him into a peaceful slumber.

It had stopped snowing sometime during the night, and by the time the two of them woke the roads had been cleared enough that they wouldn’t be risking their lives by heading on home. As luck would have it, the blanket of snow was so thick throughout the city that their schedules for the day were all canceled, so Hangeng was able to make Leeteuk the special breakfast that he’d promised. Hangeng had to chase Shindong out of the kitchen twice and beat Kangin with a wooden spoon to keep him away from the fluffy pancakes, insisting that Leeteuk was the only one who needed a treat at the moment, the others would have to fend for themselves. After two pancakes, three glasses of orange juice (Hangeng had insisted), and another nap, Leeteuk found himself to be feeling much, much better. His fever had broken, the fog in his head from his cold seemed to have lifted, and he actually felt rather perky.

He headed into the living room to join the rest of his bandmates in whatever movie they were watching, moving to drop down onto the couch next to Hangeng. Hangeng quickly scrambled up though, clutching a box of tissues close to his chest.

“Nu uh.. Don’t sit next to me.”

Leeteuk blinked, mouth hanging open slightly in confusion at the sudden change in the Chinese man. He looked up to him, seeing his puffy eyes, how his nose was shining a bright color of red. Hangeng frowned, grabbing a few tissues from the box he held against his chest, bringing him up to his nose.

“I made you pancakes, and you gave me your cold!” He blew his nose into the tissues then, causing himself to sound even more stuffed up when he spoke afterwards. He slipped past Leeteuk (mainly because he didn’t want the leader to get sick again), muttering under his breath.

“…the thanks I get…” So what if he’d been hanging around Heechul a little too much. He had every right to be cranky, it felt like his brain was slowly leaking out of his nose. He went to his room, flopping himself on his bed where he assumed he’d die a miserable death when his head exploded from all the congestion within it. It wasn’t more than ten minutes though when there was a knock on the door, Leeteuk poking his head in.

“You look like you could use a hug…”

you have no idea how happy i was when i read this fic, because it's hanteuk! (love all kind of rare!geng pairings because of the lack of it in the comm.) but ah. this is so cute ans sweet. and omg. hannie is just being hannie, taking care of the stubborn leader. i love how you end the fic, cranky hannie is so much love and eeteuk coming in. seriously i think i'll love you if you continue this with eeteuk taking care of hannie (even if that means reapeating half of the fic, but heck. there should be more hanteuk!) asdfghjkl. i'm totally in love with this and you
Oct. 11th, 2009 02:52 pm (UTC)
I love the rare pairings too! I think they're more fun. I've debated about continuing it, I don't know though. I think Leeteuk gave me his cold too.

i basically love gengxanyone fics. spot my bias, lol. ohno. takes care of you like how hannie took care of teuk. /tucks you in bed and snuggles next to you :DD
Oct. 11th, 2009 03:18 pm (UTC)
I wish I had hannie to take care of me. Or even Teukie. Or both of them. Hannie could dress like a doctor and Teukie could dress like a nurse. I'd die of a nose bleed but hey, I'd die happy.
Oct. 11th, 2009 03:22 pm (UTC)
why, hello, thank you for the mental image you've implanted in my head. i mean, how am i suppose to go to bed with that image? XD~ i dont mind geng dressing up as the nurse too.
Oct. 11th, 2009 03:49 pm (UTC)
at least I didn't have someone like Siwon dressed as a nurse. That would just be... wrong. Funny, but wrong.
Oct. 11th, 2009 06:07 am (UTC)
GAH yes. hangeng can definitely use a hug, teukie. :DDDDD

Oct. 11th, 2009 01:44 pm (UTC)
Hanteuk is so not my pairing but oh the flufffffff ♥
Oct. 11th, 2009 02:49 pm (UTC)
If I wanted to be cruel I could turn this into another beastly long series. Leeteuk got Hangeng sick, I imagine Hangeng would get Siwon sick. And Siwon clings to everyone, so it'd just explode after that... hmmm.

If my own brain wasn't leaking out of my nose at the moment I might be tempted.
Oct. 11th, 2009 03:45 pm (UTC)
I actually quite like that idea:D
(like, really)
... except that you should just stop at Siwon getting everyone else sick, that would be cracktastic
Oct. 11th, 2009 07:20 pm (UTC)
g'ahwww... this was so fluffy, lovable... HanTeuk!!!
